Brasserie Dieu du Ciel!

Jean-François Gravel, a home brewer since 1991, and Stéphane Ostiguy, a microbiology student, spent eleven months building a brewpub on Avenue Laurier in Montreal, digging the basement by hand, and opened it on 11 September 1998. Demand outgrew it, and a production brewery opened in Saint-Jérôme in 2007. Péché Mortel, an imperial coffee stout of 9.5%, is its flagship, and Rosée d’Hibiscus a wheat beer with hibiscus. The brewery also makes Moralité, an American IPA, Immoralité, a double IPA, Corne du Diable, an English IPA, Blanche du Paradis, a witbier, Sentinelle, a Kölsch-style ale, and a Czech-style pale lager. In 2012 it had 17 of Canada’s 100 best-rated beers on BeerAdvocate, more than any other brewery.
