Birrificio Barley
Nicola Perra and Isidoro Mascia founded Barley near Cagliari in 2006 to put beer on restaurant tables alongside wine, and all its beers are bottle-conditioned. BB10 is an imperial stout made with sapa, cooked-down Cannonau grape must. The BJCP credits Barley and Montegioco with first brewing the Italian Grape Ale in 2006-2007 and lists Barley’s BB beers as examples. The range also includes Sella del Diavolo, a bière de garde, and Friska, a witbier. A second plant at Maracalagonis has brewed since 2015.
