Opillia

Opillia traces itself to a brewery built in Ternopil in 1851, which brewed bock, Märzen and lager before the Soviets nationalised it in 1939. A new management team arrived in 2005 and built the brand on unpasteurised beer, sold in Ukraine as zhyve, live. In 2025 it brewed 4.8 million decalitres of beer and 550,000 of kvass, and the business daily Liga.net reports its beer in Poland, Sweden, Czechia and Spain. The company says a strike hit one of its plants on 25 May 2025.
