Okocim

Józef Neumann and Jan Ewangelista Goetz founded the brewery in 1845, and it brewed first on 23 February 1846. Under the Goetz family it became, by the early 20th century, the largest brewery on Polish soil. The family lost it in the Second World War; after nationalisation and listing on the stock market, Carlsberg became the main shareholder in 1996. Okocim Mistrzowski Porter, 9.6%, is one of the BJCP’s classic Baltic porters.
