Moritz
Louis Moritz, from Pfaffenhoffen in Alsace, was brewing in Barcelona by 1856, and by 1932 his family’s company held a third of the Catalan market. The business closed in 1978. In 2004 his descendants relaunched the beer, and in 2011 the old brewery on Ronda de Sant Antoni reopened after a refit by the architect Jean Nouvel, with a microbrewery making unpasteurised beer. Moritz belongs to the same group as La Zaragozana, which brews its main beers in Zaragoza.
