Cervesera del Montseny
Julià Vallès and Pablo Vijande met on a brewing course in Barcelona and set up the brewery in 2007 at Sant Miquel de Balenyà, in Osona, with second-hand kit from an English brewery. When Montseny and Domus started, Spain had only three craft breweries, by one Toledo paper’s count. In 2009 it began exporting to the United States, which it calls a first for a Spanish craft brewery, and in 2016 it was the first winner of the Barcelona Beer Challenge’s best-brewery award. Its range includes Lupulus, a session IPA, a Märzen and Mala Vida, an imperial stout of 11%.
