Lviv Brewery (Lvivske)

The brewery dates itself to 1715, when Jesuit monks built a brewery in Lviv’s Klepariv suburb. The Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine calls 1715 the official date and records older brewing traditions in the city. Robert Doms bought the brewery in 1863 and brought in steam power, and a joint-stock company of Lviv breweries followed in 1898. The Soviets nationalised it in 1939. After privatisation in 1993, Baltic Beverages Holding bought control in 1999, and Carlsberg took full ownership of BBH in 2008. The Lvivarnia brewing museum opened on the site in 2005, and in May 2026 Carlsberg Ukraine put EUR 12 million into a canning line there. Lvivske 1715, a pale lager, is among the beers Carlsberg Ukraine exports to 25 countries; Germany, Poland and Czechia were its largest markets in 2025.
