Homefield Brewers & Distillers (Central City)

Central City began in 2003 as a brewpub in Surrey, British Columbia, and became known for its Red Racer beers; its barley wine, Thor’s Hammer, won silver at the 2010 World Beer Cup, and it also distilled gin, vodka and whisky. It sought creditor protection in November 2024, and in February 2025 a court approved its sale to Mark Anthony Group, the company of Anthony von Mandl, creator of Mike’s Hard Lemonade and White Claw. It now trades as Homefield Brewers & Distillers and still makes Red Racer at the Surrey plant.
