Grupo HEINEKEN Brasil
Heineken came to Brazil in 1990 through a licence with Kaiser, a beer launched in Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, in 1982 by a Coca-Cola bottler. It bought Kaiser with FEMSA’s beer business in 2010, and in 2017 bought Brasil Kirin, the former Schincariol, which brought Schin, Devassa, Baden Baden and Eisenbahn and made Heineken the second brewer in the country. On 6 November 2025 it opened its first brewery built from scratch in Brazil, at Passos, Minas Gerais, for more than R$2.5 billion; in December 2025 it closed its brewery at Pacatuba, Ceará. Brazil is the Heineken group’s second-largest market, and analysts gave the company 24% of Brazilian beer volume in early 2025. Heineken and Amstel sell as puro malte, the Brazilian term for an all-barley-malt beer.
