Garrison Brewing Company
Brian Titus, a Royal Canadian Navy diver, launched Garrison in Halifax in 1997 with 15 investors; its first beer, an Irish Red Ale, came out that August. In 2006 it moved to the Halifax Seaport as its first anchor tenant, and since 2014 it has brewed in the old CN Rail repair building nearby. Tall Ship is its best seller. Each Christmas Garrison brews an alcoholic spruce beer, one of the few left of a drink New France once lived on. Its rebuilt taproom, Seaport Hall, reopened in October 2026.
