Driftwood Brewery
Gary Lindsay, Jason Meyer and Kevin Hearsum started Driftwood in Victoria in 2008, doing all the work themselves; it now has about 65 staff. In 2020 it moved to a 60,000-square-foot building in Esquimalt, where it brews, cans and runs a tasting room. Fat Tug, a Northwest-style IPA of 7% and 80+ IBU, is its best-known beer. Sartori Harvest is brewed once a year with fresh Centennial hops from the Sartori Cedar Ranch, and White Bark is a witbier. Meyer, who wrote the original recipes, retired from daily work in 2025.
