Creemore Springs Brewery

John Wiggins opened Creemore Springs in the village of Creemore, Ontario, in 1987 with one beer, a premium amber lager brewed over fire in a copper kettle with spring water trucked in daily, unpasteurised and made only from malt, hops, water and yeast. Molson bought it in 2005, and in 2009 Creemore in turn bought Granville Island Brewing. A plan that year to triple its capacity caused local debate and cost it its Ontario Craft Brewers membership. It now has about 100 staff.
