Chernihivske (Chernihiv Brewery)
The Desna brewery in Chernihiv was built in 1976 with Czech technology, and Chernihivske was first brewed in 1988 for the city’s 1,300th anniversary. Interbrew bought into the brewery in the 1990s, and since 2018 it has belonged to AB InBev Efes Ukraine, the joint venture of AB InBev and Anadolu Efes. Chernihivske Bile was the first unfiltered beer on the Ukrainian market. Brewing stopped on 24 February 2022, missiles hit the brewery in March, and production restarted in September. In April 2022 AB InBev began brewing Chernihivske in the United States, Britain, the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium and Germany, with the profits going to humanitarian relief in Ukraine.
