Bogotá Beer Company
Berny Silberwasser made brewpubs the subject of his business-school thesis, toured breweries in the United States and Europe in 1997 and in 2002 bought second-hand American equipment to found Bogotá Beer Company; the first pub opened opposite the Andino shopping centre. A 1952 Ford pick-up, bought to deliver its first kegs, has been its logo since 2010. BBC moved its brewing to Tocancipá in 2014, and in May 2015 AB InBev bought the company; it is now run inside Bavaria. Its beers are named after Bogotá places, among them Monserrate Roja, Chapinero Porter and Septimazo IPA, poured in pubs across Colombia.
