Cervejaria Big Jack
Marcelo Dalazen took up home brewing after visiting the Blumenau area in 2011 and founded Big Jack in 2016 in Orleans, in southern Santa Catarina. It began as a gypsy brewer and opened its own brewery in 2019, now with about 50,000 litres a month and some 70 styles. At the 14th Concurso Brasileiro de Cervejas in Blumenau in March 2026, which drew more than 2,700 entries, it won 27 medals, 12 of them gold, and was named the best brewery in Brazil for the second year running. Black Storm is its black IPA, Storm an American IPA and Desert a premium American lager.

American IPA
AleAmerican IPA: a strong, bitter pale ale built around American hops, from citrus and pine to tropical fruit. Strength, bitterness, glass and classic examples.
American Lager
LagerAmerican lager: the very pale, crisp, lightly bitter lager of Budweiser, Coors and Miller, served ice cold. Strength, taste, history and how it differs from a Pilsner.
Black IPA
AleBlack IPA: an American IPA brewed dark, hop-forward and dry with only a gentle roast; first sold as Blackwatch IPA around 1990. Strength, taste and serving.
