Cervecería Allende

Cervecería Allende set out in 2014 to give San Miguel de Allende a beer of its own; the business started trading in 2015 at its site on Calzada de la Estación. By 2023 it had 52 staff and exported to the United States, China, Japan and Belgium. It imports German malt, it says, because the two big brewers take Mexico’s malting barley. The range runs from a golden ale, a brown ale and an IPA to an Agave Lager brewed with baked agave, a seasonal witbier and a Baltic porter. It now reaches about 1,000 bars and restaurants and 1,300 shops in Mexico.
