A dorada pampeana pours light yellow to deep gold, clear to brilliant, under a low to medium white head. It tastes of soft malt sweetness without caramel, with a light to moderate hop, usually Cascade, and a low to moderate bitterness; the balance leans to the malt and the finish is half-dry to slightly sweet. It runs at 4.3–5.5% alcohol and is made to be easy to drink.

Where it comes from

Argentina’s first home brewers had no malt extract and could get only Pilsner malt, Cascade hops and dry yeasts such as Nottingham, Windsor or Safale. With those they built their own version of a blonde ale. The BJCP published it as local style X1 in 2018 and would place it with the pale American beers; it names no commercial examples.

Next to its neighbours

It is a blonde ale with a malt-leaning balance and a Cascade accent. The BJCP warns that the balance is hard to get right.
