The White Hag
Three Sligo natives, Bob Coggins, Paul Mullin and Brian Mc Ternan, founded The White Hag in Ballymote in 2013, and it calls itself Sligo’s first brewery in over 100 years. The name comes from a figure of Irish mythology. Little Fawn, a session IPA, leads a core range with Ninth Wave, a New World pale ale, Phantom, a hazy IPA, and Atlantean, a NEIPA. Beann Gulban, an Irish heather sour, uses heather tops in place of hops, in the way of the old herbed ales called gruit. With Kinnegar, The White Hag also brews the Porterhouse’s flagship beers.
