Brewing in Tychy dates from 1629, when the princely brewery belonged to the Promnitz family. In 1999 it merged with Lech to form Kompania Piwowarska, which passed from SABMiller to Asahi in 2017 and is Poland’s largest brewer. The site keeps a brewhouse little changed since 1905 and a brewery museum.
