Microbrasserie Le Trou du Diable
Le Trou du Diable, named after a whirlpool on the Saint-Maurice river, began as a brewpub in Shawinigan in 2005 and opened a production brewery, shop and venue in the town in 2013. Molson Coors bought it in November 2017 through its craft division, leaving the founders in place and the original brewpub independent. It has Canada’s largest barrel-ageing cellar, with more than 800 barrels. La Pitoune, a kellerbier, is the pub’s favourite; La Buteuse is a tripel inspired by Westmalle, Apocalypso an IPA with New Zealand hops, and La Saison du Tracteur, a saison, was Canada’s winner in its style at the 2026 World Beer Awards.
