Cervecería Szot

Kevin Szot, a Californian banker who came to Chile in the late 1980s, started a microbrewery in 2006 with a 100-litre pilot plant from the United States. Bars took his free samples but would not sell the beer because of exclusive contracts with the big brewers. Szot now brews 15,000–20,000 litres a month at Talagante, about 30 minutes from Santiago, with a beer garden and brewpub; his son Martín leads the brewing. Kunstmann owned part of the company until April 2024, when it sold its shares back and took the Szot trademarks.
