Cervecería Primus (Tempus)

The cousins Jaime and Rodolfo Andreu started brewing as a hobby in 2006 in Rodolfo’s basement and named the business after Jan Primus, the legendary beer king. Tempus Alt Clásica, an altbier, came out at the Gourmet Show in 2007, and Tempus Doble Malta followed in 2008. In 2013 Primus opened a production brewery in San Juan del Río, Querétaro, by which time sales had grown from 20 to 1,500 cases a month. It calls itself an independent Mexican brewery. Its everyday Jabalí range includes a Helles, a bock, a stout and an IPA, and visitors can tour the brewery and drink in its beer garden.
