pFriem Family Brewers
Josh Pfriem, Ken Whiteman and Rudy Kellner, all formerly of Full Sail, founded pFriem in Hood River in 2012 as a brewery inspired by the Pacific Northwest and Belgium. The Great American Beer Festival named it the best mid-size brewery in the United States in 2018, the year its Pilsner won silver among German-style Pilsners. In January 2026 Josh Pfriem said Pilsner made up almost half of output, ahead of its IPA, hazy IPA and West Coast IPA. The range also takes in a Helles, a Flanders red and a Belgian strong dark, and pFriem now has a production and barrel site at Cascade Locks.
