Parallel 49 Brewing Company
Anthony Frustagli, Nick Paladino and Mike Sleeman, who also own a Vancouver restaurant and brewpub, left their jobs in 2012 to start Parallel 49 with the home brewer Graham With as head brewer. It made 30 beers in its first year and still brews at its first address in East Vancouver, with a tasting room and kitchen. It counts 99 awards since 2012, among them Canadian Brewing Awards golds for its Craft Lager and a World Beer Cup silver for its Craft Pale Ale in 2022. Ruby Tears is an amber ale, and an Oktoberfest Schwarzbier placed in 2026.
