Nøgne Ø

Gunnar Wiig and Kjetil Jikiun founded Nøgne Ø, “naked island”, a phrase from Ibsen’s poem Terje Vigen, in a garage in Grimstad in January 2002, and moved into the old Rygene power station in 2005. Hansa Borg bought a majority in 2013, and Royal Unibrew has owned Hansa Borg since 2022. Its range has included an India pale ale, an imperial stout, a saison, a tripel and #100, a hopped barley wine.
