Mack
Ludwig Markus Mack founded the brewery in Tromsø in 1877, and it is still independent and family-owned. It long marketed itself as the world’s northernmost brewery; in 2012 production moved to Nordkjosbotn in Balsfjord, about 70 km from Tromsø, while the old Mack quarter in the town keeps the offices, the Ølhallen pub and a small brewery. From 2003 to 2005 Mack brewed the first beers of Lervig.
