Lervig

Lervig started in Stavanger in 2003, after Ringnes bought the local Tou brewery and moved its brewing to Oslo; at first it made mostly pilsner to replace Tou, and it moved into its own brewery at Hillevåg in 2005. The American Mike Murphy became head brewer in 2010 and turned it towards craft beer, and imperial stouts and New England IPAs became its best sellers. It has complained that the state retailer Vinmonopolet lists new beers too slowly for fresh IPA. The investment fund Orkila Capital bought half the company in 2018.
