Jovarų alus
Aldona Udrienė’s family has brewed at Jovarai, in the Pakruojis district, for three generations, and Lithuanian Wikipedia says its yeast has been kept in the family for more than 130 years. The beer is brewed from barley malt; the wort is not boiled, the hops are boiled separately, and it is sold live, unfiltered and unpasteurised. In 2019 the EU registered Kaimiškas Jovarų alus as a protected geographical indication. It is the anchor of the Lithuanian farmhouse ale page.
