Grimbergen
The abbey of Grimbergen licensed its name to the Maes brewery in 1958, and Carlsberg has held the international licence since 2008; in Belgium, Alken-Maes brews the main range. In May 2021 the abbey opened a brewery of its own, with new beers. Grimbergen Blond is the BJCP’s example of a Belgian blond ale, and the range also takes in a dubbel, a tripel and a white beer, Blanche.
