Früh (Cölner Hofbräu)

Peter Josef Früh opened his brewhouse at Am Hof 12, next to Cologne Cathedral, in 1904; the name Hofbräu comes from the address, not from a royal court. Brewing moved out to Köln-Feldkassel in 1987, and the old brewery became the Früh am Dom tavern, where the beer is poured from the cask. Früh is a family firm in its fifth generation and also brews several other Cologne brands under contract. Früh Kölsch is a classic Kölsch.
