Fremont Brewing

Matt Lincecum and Sara Nelson founded Fremont Brewing in Seattle in 2009. It is the third-largest craft brewery in Washington and the state’s largest maker of barrel-aged beer, with a production brewery in Ballard and a beer garden in Fremont, Yakima Valley hops and water from the Cedar River watershed. Bourbon Abominable won a bronze medal at the 2012 World Beer Cup. Interurban IPA and Lush IPA lead the range, and Alaska Airlines has poured Lush on its flights since 2018. In April 2024 Seattle Hospitality Group, which also owns Pike Brewing, bought control; Lincecum said the deal kept the brewery local.
