Birrificio del Ducato
Giovanni Campari founded the brewery in 2007 at Roncole Verdi, Giuseppe Verdi’s birthplace near Busseto. Its Verdi Imperial Stout won gold at the European Beer Star in 2008, which DoctorWine calls the first international award for an Italian beer, and its first beer, Viaemilia, is a reference Italian pilsner. Wedding Rauch follows the Bamberg smoked beers. Duvel Moortgat bought 35% in 2016 and 70% in 2018; under the 2016 law the beers can no longer be called artigianali. The brewery, now at Soragna, says it has won over 180 medals.
