Cruzcampo (Heineken España)

The brothers Tomás and Roberto Osborne Guezala, who had seen brewing in Germany and the Low Countries, built the brewery in Seville and named it after a nearby shrine, the Cruz del Campo; the first Cruzcampo went on sale on 22 December 1904, with the beer-loving king Gambrinus on its label. Guinness bought it in 1991 and Heineken in 2000, merging it with El Águila of Madrid, which it had owned since 1984, as Heineken España, based in Seville. Heineken España brews in Seville, Jaén, Valencia and Madrid. Cruzcampo calls its beer a pilsen of 4.8%.
