Collective Arts Brewing
Matt Johnston and Bob Russell founded Collective Arts in 2013 to pair beer with the work of emerging artists and musicians: twice a year it invites submissions and pays the artists it chooses to appear on its cans for a set time, more than 650 by Wikipedia’s count. Since 2014 it has brewed in the former Lakeport brewery in Hamilton. Ransack the Universe, an IPA, and Stranger than Fiction, a porter that has won at the World Beer Cup, are among its beers, sold across Canada and in several countries abroad. In October 2025 it opened a crowdfunding round to Canadian investors.
