Cervecería de Colima

Cervecería de Colima began in 2014 with friends who wanted a beer for the tropical heat; the first Colimita was drunk on 23 April that year. Esteban Silva Ochoa, who left a corporate job, owns and runs it. Colimita is a golden lager of Pilsner malt with Saaz and Hallertau hops, at 4.4%, which the brewery calls German-type; it has won six golds at Cerveza México. The company grew from five people to more than 100 and expected to brew about 25,000 hectolitres in 2025, with the alcohol-free Colima Cero making up 10–15% of it. The brewery also sells its own mineral water.
