Cervecería Nacional Dominicana (Presidente)

The American businessman Charles H. Wanzer founded the company in 1929, the first brewery in the Dominican Republic, and launched Presidente in 1935. The brewery calls Presidente a pilsner-type beer with light fruity notes and a soft, lingering bitterness. Ambev bought 51% in 2012 from the León Jimenes family and Heineken, and in 2018 raised its share to 85%, with the family keeping 15%. The range also includes Presidente Light and Bohemia Especial.
