Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Company
Jimmy Sands opened the Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Company at Freeport, Grand Bahama, in the mid-2000s and named its first beer, Sands, after himself; it is a light golden lager and its best seller. The company calls itself 100% Bahamian-owned and sells through nine Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits shops across the islands. Strong Back Stout was developed as a smoother, easier alternative to Guinness, and the BJCP lists it as an example of the tropical stout.
