Aldaris

Aldaris dates itself to 1865, when the Waldschlößchen brewery was built on the edge of Riga, and it still brews on that site. In 1937 a state bank merged it with two other Riga breweries, and the name Aldaris, brewer, was chosen by public poll. Baltic Beverages Holding entered in 1992, and Aldaris has been wholly Carlsberg’s since 2008. The BJCP lists Aldaris Mežpils Porteris as a Baltic porter, though it is not on the brewery’s current list.
