Aass Bryggeri
The brewery in Drammen tapped its first beer in 1834, on the town-centre site where it still brews, which makes it Norway’s oldest working brewery. Poul Lauritz Aass, a farmer’s son, took it over in the 1860s, and his family has run it since; Lauritz Aass, of the fifth generation, took over in 2024. It brews about 25 beers, among them Aass Bayer, a dark lager in the Munich way, a bock and a Christmas beer, and makes aquavit and soft drinks too.
