Zwettler

The brewery builds on the brewing tradition of the Cistercian abbey of Zwettl and is first documented in 1708. The Schwarz family bought it in 1890 and runs it in the fifth generation, and its demand helped bring hop growing back to the Waldviertel. It has brewed a Zwickl since 1984 and Zwettler Original since the family’s centenary in 1989.
