Cervecería Volcánica
Luis Campelo, then importing car parts, and his partner Fabrice De Villeneuve, a Frenchman settled in Uruguay, launched Volcánica in December 2014 with a brewery of about 20,000 litres a month at Las Toscas, Canelones, and two bars. It was one of two Uruguayan craft breweries that invested in large modern plants that year. Its beers lean Belgian: a Belgian IPA, a Dubbel, a Belgian blond and a Belgian strong dark ale, with an American IPA beside them.
