Trumer

Archbishop Wolf Dietrich granted Obertrum its brewing right in 1601, and Josef Sigl, a hop trader, bought the tavern and brewery in 1775; his family still owns it, led by Josef C. Sigl in the eighth generation. In the 1980s it concentrated on Pils, fermented in its own open vessels, and Trumer Pils won the World Beer Cup’s German-style pilsener category in 2006 and 2008, which makes it a German Pils. It also brews Trumer Pils in Berkeley, California.
