Traquair House Brewery
Traquair House in the Scottish Borders had a domestic brewery under the chapel from the early 1700s. Brewing stopped in the early 1800s, until Peter Maxwell Stuart, the 20th Laird, rediscovered the complete set of vessels in 1965 and began brewing again, fermenting in oak tuns, some over 200 years old. The family still runs it. Traquair House Ale is a BJCP wee heavy, and Bear Ale a Scottish export, on the Scottish ale page.
