Thwaites
Daniel Thwaites became a partner in Blackburn’s Eanam Brewery in 1807 and its sole owner in 1824; his Yerburgh descendants still lead the company. In 2015 Marston’s bought Thwaites’ main brewing business and brands such as Wainwright, which Carlsberg Britvic now brews. Thwaites moved to a small brewery at Mellor Brook in the Ribble Valley in 2018, brewing for its own estate of about 200 pubs, inns and hotels.
