Three Floyds Brewing

Nick and Simon Floyd and their father Mike opened Three Floyds in 1996 in an old garage in Hammond, Indiana, with a brewhouse made from a cola tank, wok burners and salvaged fermenters, and moved to Munster in 2000. Alpha King and Zombie Dust are American pale ales, the second hopped with Citra, and Dark Lord, first brewed in 2002, is a Russian imperial stout with coffee and vanilla sold only at Dark Lord Day, a ticketed festival. In 2011 the Washington Post reported that RateBeer users had ranked it the best brewery in the world in four of five years. Simon Floyd died in December 2024.
