Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee

Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee

The brewery stands in the north wing of the former Tegernsee abbey. It presents itself as heir to a monastery brewery of around the year 1000, but German Wikipedia dates it securely from 1675. King Max I Joseph bought the dissolved abbey and brewery in 1817, and it has stayed with the Wittelsbach family; Maria Anna, Duchess in Bavaria, owns and runs it. Its best-known beer is Tegernseer Hell, a pale Munich Helles.
