Švyturys
The merchant J. W. Reincke founded the brewery in Klaipėda, then Memel, in 1784, and his family’s sea eagle is still its emblem. After the war it brewed again from 1946 under the name Švyturys, lighthouse. It joined the Carlsberg group in 1999 and merged with Utenos alus in 2001 to form Lithuania’s largest brewer. German Wikipedia calls Švyturio Baltijos, a recipe from the 1960s, a Lithuanian Märzen, and Švyturio Ekstra won World Beer Cup gold in 2012.
