Zum Schlüssel
Beer was first brewed around 1850 in the house at Bolkerstraße 47, and Carl Gatzweiler took it over in 1936. The family built a large brewery in 1963 for its mass brand Gatzweilers Alt, then sold that brewery and brand and kept only the old-town house brewery. German Wikipedia calls it the smallest of the four traditional Altbier breweries in Düsseldorf’s old town. Schlüssel Alt is a classic Altbier.
