Cervecería Kross
José Tomás Infante, back from a year selling wine in Ireland, met the German brewmaster Asbjorn Gerlach in 2003 after tasting his stout at a bar in Santiago, and the two founded Kross, which brews in Curacaví. Viña Concha y Toro bought 40% in 2011, took control in 2017 and in May 2024 raised its stake to 87%; the founders kept the rest and still run it. Kross Golden, an English-style pale ale with Cascade and Glacier hops, is its best seller, and Kross 5, brewed for its fifth anniversary with five malts and five hops, was the first Chilean beer matured on toasted American oak. It claims more than 150 international medals.
