Jever

Diedrich König founded the Friesisches Brauhaus at Jever in 1848. The beer has been sold as Jever Pilsener since 1934 and overtook the brewery’s own Export in the 1960s. The brewery joined Brau und Brunnen in 1994 and with it the Oetker group’s Radeberger Gruppe in 2004. Wikipedia describes the Pilsener as markedly more bitter than other German Pils, and the BJCP lists it as a classic German Pils.
